At Big White, Crescendo defines “Luxury”

Unsurpassed Tranquility

The Eye Eats First

The jetted tub overlooks the Great Room, providing views to the fireplace, to the ski slopes, and to the Monashee mountains. As the eye eats first, in fine dining the presentation is known to be an essential ingredient.  That principle is certainly not lost at either Crescendo or Big White.  True, Crescendo can’t lay claim to creating the Monashee Mountains; we can, however, lay claim to capturing them.  The unprecedented panoramas through the Great Room’s approximate 30' floor-to-ceiling windows are truly breathtaking.  From virtually every room, in fact, your eye can feast endlessly on awe-inspiring beauty:  a beauty that remains the foundational ingredient to your realizing the depth of tranquility that can be experienced at Crescendo.

Our Signature Dish

Clearly, the main course at Big White is the twenty-five feet of champagne powder that is served at Big White each year.  We have been told by our guests, though, that Crescendo’s signature dish is, without doubt, our indoor-outdoor pool/Jacuzzi.  As one guest so aptly noted, "The hot tub that is inside and that carries to the outside was brilliant in design and in effect.  You will be the envy of all who ski by!"

I still have vivid memories when, as a child, I was paralyzed by the chilling air, as I made a mad-dash from being outside in the pool to being inside my home:  and that was in Miami Beach, Florida!  Still, when I built Crescendo, that memory and my vision held fast, and I insisted on having an indoor/outdoor pool, where I could enjoy subzero temps yet emerge from the pool feeling quite toasty.  Crescendo’s indoor/outdoor pool was thus born.  With 1/2 of the pool indoors and 1/2 outdoors, one can access both areas by entering the pool from inside our Pool Room.  To accommodate an outdoor excursion, nonetheless, the pool’s perimeter is heated to snow-melt temperatures.

No problem finding your way back to Crescendo, even after partying a little too hard at the village.Notice the pool's perimeter? It's geothermally heated to snow-melt temperatures. While standing your feet might not feel toasty; when sitting, though, your butt won't freeze. Our SwimGym allows stationary lap swimming, against a current set to a level of your choosing. When heated to pool temperatures, stationary lap swimming is available through Crescendo’s SwimGym.  The SwimGym’s non-aerated system creates an underwater current and, when operated at its higher speeds, that current is forceful enough to produce a rigorous kayaking experience, as well.  See our video of the SwimGym in operation, by clicking on the video of (Crescendo’s Home Tour).

Crescendo not only sleeps 22 guests, but our indoor-outdoor Jacuzzi accommodates that many as well. What are you waiting for? Hop in.Ahhh ...Grandma and grand-kids enjoying Crescendo's Jacuzzi...Especially the indoor portion. How does grandma keep her hair looking that good, anyway? And in a Jacuzzi of all places! The 12′ x 16′ pool is jetted and heats to Hot Tub temperatures (104 degrees Fahrenheit)!  Each of the five separate pumps connects to three Jacuzzi jets:  9 jets on the inside portion and 6 jets on the outside portion.  The three South jets massage your upper back; the three North jets massage your lower back; and the three East jets massage your feet.  Six additional jets are outside at the West end, where your back and shoulders are massaged.  Notably, activating any jetted function will not diminish the effectiveness of the other jets (another irritation found in non-custom hot tubs).

On an unrelated and totally tangential note – Do you know what the difference is between a Jacuzzi and a Hot Tub?

To be a Hot Tub, it must be set in California and
the number of partyers must double the tub's recommended maximum.
             Oh yeah, birthday suits only.

Well, that’s my take on it, anyway.  In that light, then, at Crescendo we technically have a Jacuzzi.  Besides, we actually do have “real” Jacuzzi jets.  Also, Crescendo’s Jacuzzi is quite large, easily accommodating the home’s twenty-two person sleeping capacity.

Private Ensuites – Sweet!

Everything about Crescendo is spacious and designed for comfort and practicality. By itself, though, Crescendo's Master Suite is a private retreat. Each bedroom has its own private ensuite, but the Master Suite is especially sweet.Did I mention that the Master Suite is REALLY sweet! Yes! I so deserve this! Each dedicated bedroom has its own private ensuite, but the master suite is especially sweet: two sinks, a two-person steam-shower, and a two-person jetted tub.  The tub overlooks the Great Room, providing views to the fireplace, to the ski slopes, and to the Monashee mountains.  Breathtaking, really.  Reflecting on her stay at Crescendo, in fact, one guest commented, "For such a loud name, Crescendo's setting was tranquil and serene."

Pleasant Dreams

A view from one of the Guest Bedroom's lofts. Each has 2 twin beds with drawers underneath. We get a kick out of the audible gasps from our guests, the first time they see our Guest Bedrooms.Crescendo is a 5 bedroom 5 bathroom home.  Although Crescendo has enough fixed and movable beds to sleep 22, our intention is to comfortably sleep 15.  Crescendo is perfect, then, for a multi-generational family gathering, or for 2 to 3 families to vacation together.  As such, to better accommodate your unique needs, several of our spaces may be configured in very different ways.

Three of our bedrooms are dedicated wholly to that use:  the Master Bedroom & the two Guest Bedrooms.  The Theatre and the Game Room are our flexible bedrooms, meaning that the rooms can easily serve as being both entertainment areas and private bedrooms.  While cleverly designed and hidden, the beds in both of those rooms are custom-made and permanent.  Also, the bedding and mattresses are of the same exceptional quality as that of the dedicated bedrooms.

The chart below shows our bed/bath configurations.  Note that, not including any of our sleeper sofas, Crescendo has 14 separate beds (1 King, 5 Queens, 8 Twins).  We additionally have various portable beds that can be setup upon request.  These include cots and air beds for adults, portable cots & sleeping bags for toddlers (up to about age five), and a Pack 'n Play for an infant.
